ZAGREB, July 22 (Hina) - A group of Croatian non-governmental
organisations and individuals opposing globalisation forwarded an
open letter to the government and president of the republic on
Sunday, requesting they disclose all international agreements and
commitments Croatia has with the World Trade Organisation, the
International Monetary Fund, and the World Bank.
"We call on the government to make public every obligation we have
at present and in the future so that citizens may be acquainted with
their not too bright future," reads the letter signed by six NGOs
and ten individuals.
They demand that the government publicly say the purpose of loans
Croatia has been granted by the World Bank and what Croatia has
committed to by signing deals with various multinational
companies.
"The G8 creation is a source of evil and human problems, while
Croatia's access to the WTO has jeopardised national sovereignty,"
says the letter which urges MPs and political parties to reconsider
Croatia's admission to the WTO.
