ZAGREB, July 18 (Hina) - Croatian President Stjepan Mesic on Wednesday received Kazakh President, Nursultan Abisevic Nazarbajev, who was accompanied by a delegation consisting of economists and representatives of seven ministries of
this former Soviet republic. Kazakhstan showed interest in purchasing shares of Croatia's Ina, Janaf, Pliva and Podravka. The country is interested in cooperation with Croatia in the pharmaceutical industry because it imports 90 percent of the medications worth 350 billion kuna. Croatian companies could take part in road reconstruction in Kazakhstan as Kazakhstan plans to reconstruct 6,000 kilometres of highways. Both countries wish to strengthen political ties. Two documents were signed on this occasion, first being a memorandum on cooperation between the countries' foreign ministries.
