THE HAGUE, July 10 (Hina) - Former Republika Srpska President Biljana Plavsic's attorney on Tuesday said he would submit a request to the U.N. war crimes tribunal in The Hague to release his client on parole. "We will submit the
request tomorrow," attorney Robert Pavic said. Also forwarded to the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY) will be a Serbian government guarantee regarding Plavsic's stay on the Serbian territory, in case the Hague tribunal decides to release the former Republika Srpska President on parole before the beginning of the trial. ICTY chief prosecutor Carla del Ponte recently said she had nothing against Plavsic's possible release on parole, given she had surrendered and cooperated with the ICTY prosecutors.
