MARIJA BISTRICA, July 8 (Hina) - Zagreb Archbishop Josip Bozanic, on Sunday appealed on the faithful to pray so that "those who are in power may direct the course of events in order to avoid any cause for reactions of uncontrolled
feelings which can be harmful to the common weal, peace and security in the society." "We feel that tension is mounting and divisions in the Croatian society are being multiplied unnecessarily. Therefore we ask for the help to be given to individuals and organised groups so that in their efforts and decision-making they will put the general well-being of the Croatian people, society and state above particular interests of individuals, parties and associations," the Croatian Catholic Primate said during an annual pilgrimage made by Zagreb citizens to the national Marian shrine in Marija Bistrica. MARIJA BISTRICA, July 8 (Hina) - Zagreb Archbishop Josip Bozanic,
on Sunday appealed on the faithful to pray so that "those who are in
power may direct the course of events in order to avoid any cause for
reactions of uncontrolled feelings which can be harmful to the
common weal, peace and security in the society."
"We feel that tension is mounting and divisions in the Croatian
society are being multiplied unnecessarily. Therefore we ask for
the help to be given to individuals and organised groups so that in
their efforts and decision-making they will put the general well-
being of the Croatian people, society and state above particular
interests of individuals, parties and associations," the Croatian
Catholic Primate said during an annual pilgrimage made by Zagreb
citizens to the national Marian shrine in Marija Bistrica.
He especially appealed for more solidarity and compassion in the
society and in the country.
"Let us not be closed in the past. We shall be open to the future,"
Bozanic said during his sermon, and at the end he blessed all the
believers, Zagreb and the homeland Croatia.
