KNIN KNIN, June 19 (Hina) - Investigators of the Hague-based international war crimes tribunal have exhumed 214 bodies from the Knin cemetery, Sibenik investigative judge Dalibor Dukic told reporters today. At six graves a body was
found in every vault, wrapped up in plastic body bags and buried at a satisfactory depth. On 153 cases identification marks were found, which correlate to the characteristics named on the lists of missing persons. The remains were taken to the Zagreb Forensic Institute to establish the causes of death. The exhumation at the Knin cemetery will last until the beginning of July. Hague investigators began exhumations in Knin with the consent of the Croatian government, and have assessed they would be exhuming 253 remains of people who died during and after the Croatian military operation "Storm" which was carried out to liberate a part of Croatia's occupied territory.(hina) lml
