HDZ WINS MOST MANDATES AT LOCAL ELECTIONS

ZAGREB, June 15 (Hina) - According to an analysis made by the Social Democratic Party (SDP) of the May 20 local election results, the Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ) won the majority of a total of 8,466 mandates, namely 2,768, the Croatian Peasants' Party (HSS) follows with 1,508, the SDP with 1,322, the Croatian Social Liberal Party (HSLS) with 528, the Croatian People's Party (HNS) with 407 and the Istrian Democratic Assembly (IDS) with 271. According to the analysis, the HDZ has 314 councillors in county assemblies, the SDP 181, the HSS 148, the HSLS 72, the HNS 65, the HSP 30 and the IDS holds 28 councillor's positions. The HDZ holds the majority of mandates in towns and cities, namely 672, the SDP follows with 474, the HSS with 253, the HSLS with 156, the HNS with 131 and the IDS with 79. The HDZ will have 1,782 councillors in municipal councils, the HSS 1,107, the SDP 667, the HSLS 300 the HNS 211 and the IDS 164. The SDP analysis does not include minor parties and independent lists.
