ZAGREB, June 14 (Hina) - Strengthening of the kuna in relation to foreign currencies will cause long-term harm to tourism since the extra services which are expensive even now, will become more expensive. Information from the ground
indicates less spending and empty restaurants, president of the Croatian Travel Agencies Association (UHPA), Ivan Puskar, said. Because of less domestic guests this summer due to a lack of beds, the UHPA holds catering will not be successful this season. The association says the foreseason is booked exceptionally well at all Adriatic destinations, and about 80 percent of all tourists were brought there by agencies. They hold that attracting tourists before and after the main tourist season should be the chief task for next year, since the main season is booked full anyhow. The large number of unregistered private apartment or room renters should be registered, they stressed.(hina) lml sb
