NEW YORK, June 6 (Hina) - At a special session of the UN General Assembly on human settlements -- Habitat II, Croatian Environment Protection and Urban Planning Minister Bozo Kovacevic spoke before participants today in New York.
Kovacevic informed the session about Croatian government measures in implementing summit conclusions on human settlements which was held in Istanbul five years ago. Croatia is, along with other urban development problems, struggling to solve war damage, he said. He pointed out two thirds of Croatian citizens lived in towns and cities. "One of Croatian urban planning priorities is to create equal opportunities for a safe and healthy life by building sustainable settlements with existing infrastructure," Kovacevic said.
