PRISTINA, June 4 (Hina) - A month-long operation of voluntary hand-over of illegal arms in Kosovo, conducted by the Kosovo Force (KFOR) and the U.N. Mission in Kosovo (UNMIK), was completed on the night between Sunday and Monday and
can be considered successful, KFOR spokesman Roy Brown told reporters on Monday. Since May 1, when the operation, envisaging amnesty for all who voluntarily hand over their illegally owned weapons, started, Kosovo residents have handed over to KFOR 475 rifles, 62 handguns, 21 anti-tank mines, 16 rockets, almost 200 hand grenades and anti-infantry mines and a large quantity of ammunition.(hina) sb rml
