ZAGREB, May 5 (Hina) - A commemoration was held in the northern Croatian town of Kumrovec on Saturday to mark the 21st anniversary of the death of Josip Broz Tito, the president of the former Yugoslav federation, who was born here.
The commemoration was organised by the Croatian Alliance of Anti-fascist Fighters (SAB) and the Josip Broz Tito Association. In attendance were representatives of fighters and people who took part in the WW2 National Liberation Struggle who arrived from Croatia, Bosnia and Slovenia aboard more than 30 buses, Croatian Radio reported. Speaking about Tito's role, SAB president Ivan Fumic said Tito had realised the danger which was threatening the world and organised troops which opposed fascism and nazism while others were signing pacts with the fascists. Krapina-Zagorje deputy prefect Stanko Belina said Kumrovec must
base its development on Tito's name and advocated that his body,
buried in Belgrade, be returned to Croatia.
