PM RACAN ISSUES MESSAGE AHEAD OF INTERNATIONAL LABOUR DAY

ZAGREB, April 30 (Hina) - Prime Minister Ivica Racan issued a message on Monday on his and the government's behalf wishing Croatians a happy First of May, International Labour Day. According to the message, this year's International Labour Day is marked at a time of economic hardship, the consequence of many years of recession and increasing crisis, which undermines the Constitution-guaranteed right to work by a worrying unemployment rate. "In these circumstances, the Government has from the beginning of its mandate persisted in fighting to eliminate the causes of economic depression and lead the country onto the road of recovery. Fortunately, the latest indicators show the negative processes are coming to an end, even a mild growth in the key segments of the economy," read the message.
