EXHUMATION TEAMS START EXCAVATING MASS GRAVE IN SLAVONIJA

DALJ, April 25 (Hina) - Exhumation teams on Wednesday started unearthing a mass grave believed to hide the bodies of several dozen victims of the Serbian aggression on Croatia at the 'Lovas' farm, located between the eastern Croatian villages of Dalj and Borovo. The remains of four civilians were excavated today from just below the surface of the grave, the head of the Government Office for Detained and Missing Persons, Lieutenant Colonel Ivan Grujic, told reporters. It is assumed that the grave contains the bodies of victims taken to the site by buses shortly after the fall of Vukovar but this is yet to be confirmed by an investigation which is being conducted by the Osijek County Court, Grujic said. Grujic said that the Hague war crimes tribunal had been contacted and informed about the case and the exhumation was attended by OSCE monitors. There are indications about another mass grave in Osijek County, Gruji
