KOSOVO MEDIA PUBLISH "POLITICAL PLATFORM" OF ALBANIAN GUERRILLA

PRISTINA, April 24 (Hina) - The Albanian media in Pristina on Tuesday published a statement by the National Liberation Army (NOV) on the resolution of the conflict between Albanians and Macedonian authorities. The statement was signed by Ali Ahmeti, political representative of the Albanian guerrilla, who claims that the statement, which he calls a "political platform", had been sent to the highest international institutions, such as the US State Department, European Union, Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE), U.N. Security Council and the NATO Council. The statement reads that NOV supports Macedonia's integrity and sovereignty and requests that talks with Macedonian authorities on the country's future be conducted with international mediation. The Albanian guerrilla also demands that Macedonia change its constitution so as to recognise Albanians as a constituent nation, with the right to use their language and symbols. The army also demands a census under international supervision, the return of all Albanians who left or fled Macedonia, and the granting of citizenship to all Albanians currently residing on Macedonia's territory.
