KOVACEVIC AT SESSION OF UN COMMISSION FOR SUSTAINED DEVELOPMENT

ZAGREB/NEW YORK, Hina 21 (Hina) - Croatian Environmental and Urban Planning Minister Bozo Kovacevic participated in the 9th session of the United Nations Commission for Sustained Development in New York on Friday, Kovacevic's Ministry said in a statement. Kovacevic informed the members of the commission of Croatia's experiences in the field of sustained development. The Croatian minister said that in spite of an increased production and consumption of energy in Croatia in the reconstruction and development process, the percentage of the gas and coal use significantly dropped. In the period between 1990 and 1998, the percentage of gas in the overall power consumption dropped from 8.5 to 2.6 percent, the minister said.
