ZAGREB, April 12 (Hina) - Police officers who participated in a four-day-long seminar on human rights, on Thursday received diplomas. The seminar, which took place in Zagreb, was organised by the Croatian Interior Ministry and the
International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC). Twenty eight (28) high-ranking police officers were trained on this occasion to be able to educate their subordinates for the fair treatment of citizens in their every-day contacts. At the end of the seminar, the top police superintendent in Croatia, Ranko Ostojic, called on participants to transfer their knowledge to other police officers in police stations where it was most needed. He stressed that they must continuously promote international humanitarian law and protect human rights in their job. He announced similar seminars for autumn.
