ZAGREB, March 15 (Hina) - Parliament's lower house on Thursday adopted a conclusion binding the government to draft a new and integral law on childbirth allowance within 30 days, in accordance with similar laws in the European Union.
The lower house forwarded into second reading a bill of amendments to the Law on the Execution of the State Budget which proposes keeping childbirth allowance at the level of previous ones. The bill was moved by the opposition's Croatian Democratic Union party. Also adopted were amendments to the Law on Public Roads, the Law on Special Tax on Oil Products, the Sports Law, and the international convention on the preservation of the Atlantic tuna. The lower house also adopted an agreement memorandum between the governments of Croatia and Italy on the establishment of a joint supervision system for navigation in the Adriatic Sea.(hina) ha
