ZAGREB, March 13 (Hina) - Economy Minister Goranko Fizulic signed a

consortium and PriceWaterhouseCoopers (PWC), which the government

preparations for the oil company's privatisation.#L#
The advisers' fee will total $965,000, much less than the price
which was asked by other competitors, said Fizulic.
The signing of the contract kick-starts the privatisation of
Croatia's largest company. According to the minister, the
objective is to create an efficient company which will be able to
dominate in the whole region, whose shares will be in quotation on
the Zagreb Stock Exchange as well as on the world stock markets, and
which will help advance Croatia's financial market.
Fizulic expects INA's brave and optimistic business plan, with 600
million kuna (approx. $72.3 million) expected in profits this year,
will spearhead the development of domestic economy.
The advisers should complete all necessary reports by mid-June,
when the Croatian government will be given recommendations, PWC
representative David Lloyd said. The advisers will then be given
additional tasks for completion in four months.
Lloyd and Deutsche Bank's Philip Wolfe said the steps the Croatian
government had taken were good and that the economy and
privatisation were headed in the right direction. These are all
positive signals for foreign investors, they said.
