ZAGREB, March 8 (Hina) - Croatia issued 46,500 sailing licenses last year, which is a 17.4 percent increase in relation to the year 1999. According to the State Bureau of Statistics, most of the vessels reached the Adriatic via roads
(32,500 of them), while 14,000 vessels came by sea. Most licenses, 16,500, were issued to Germany, which marks a 14.9 per cent increase then the previous year. Italy came second with 13,300 licenses and Austria with 8,400 licenses. Out of the total 166,200 people sailing on the Adriatic last year most were Germans (51,400), followed by Italians, 46,600 and Austrians, almost 40,000.(hina) lml
