ZAGREB, Feb 23 (Hina) - President Stipe Mesic on Friday received Latvian Foreign Minister Indulis Berzinus for talks on Croatia's and Latvia's rapprochement with the European Union and NATO. Both officials voiced willingness to
exchange information and mutually assist each other in the process. Responding to Berzinus' question about the situation in the region, President Mesic said Croatia was interested in the normalisation of the situation in neighbouring Bosnia and for it to take the route of Croatia's strategic goals, access to the EU and NATO. Speaking about Yugoslavia, Mesic said that after former President Slobodan Milosevic's fall, Belgrade must unambiguously tell and show its neighbours and the international community that Milosevic's policy had fallen too.(hina) ha
