BUSH: U.S. CONSIDER CROATIA IMPORTANT REGIONAL PARTNER

WASHINGTON, Feb 15 (Hina) - The United States consider Croatia an important regional partner and strongly support its integration with Euro-Atlantic structures, U.S. President George W. Bush said in Washington on Wednesday receiving credentials from Croatian Ambassador Ivan Grdesic. Grdesic is the first ambassador to hand Bush credentials since the new U.S. President took office on Jan. 20. In his address, the ambassador said he wanted to present a new, democratic Croatia oriented to strengthening a partnership with the U.S. based on joint values of democracy, peace, progress, and stronger economic cooperation. Grdesic emphasised Croatia's strategic commitment to transatlantic integration and recalled the significant role and number of Croat Americans, who he said were a bridge connecting the two countries in the areas of politics, economy, and culture.(hina) ha
