PULA, Feb 12 (Hina) - President of the Istrian Democratic Assembly (IDS) Ivan Jakovcic called on Istria County residents to gather at a meeting for peace and democracy the party is organising in Pula Saturday. He also invited county
representatives of the ruling coalition of six parties to join the IDS in organising the meeting. With olive branches as a symbol of peace and coexistence Istrians will on Saturday show what the city of Pula and entire Istria have been for a long time, Jakovcic said, dismissing claims the party is organising the meeting as a response to Sunday's gathering in Split in support to General Mirko Norac for whom a warrant of arrest has been issued, for suspicion of war crimes. "Everyone can voice their disagreement with the government, but without extremism, yelling and messages which do not serve to the honour of Croatian citizens," Jakovcic said.(hina) lml sb
