RIJEKA, Feb 12 (Hina) - Defence attorneys of General Mirko Norac and Colonel Milan Canic, accused of war crimes against civilians, announced Monday they will file appeals to the Constitutional Court against custody measures set for

Norac's state-appointed attorney Tomislav Sabljar and Canic's attorney Velimir Dosen said the Constitution and law were violated with the custody decision, because, they said, there are no foundations for detention, considering the fact there are legal conditions for the defendants to be granted bail, notwithstanding the gravity of the indictment. General Norac and Colonel Canic, together with the first indictee, Tihomir Oreskovic, have been accused of having ordered the elimination of groups of citizens of Serb nationality in Pazariste, Lipova Glavica and Karlobag (central Croatia) in October 1991, during Croatia's defence war.
