ANKARA ANKARA, Feb 7 (Hina) - Croatia's President Stjepan Mesic on Wednesday held talks in Ankara with Turkish Premier Bulent Ecevit, parliament head Omer Izgi and a former president, Suleyman Demirel. The talks between Mesic and his
hosts mainly revolved around the situation in southeastern Europe. According to sources close to the Croatian President's Office, Mesic notified them of Croatia's views about changes in the strengthening of security in that European region. During his talks with former Turkish president Demirel, the Croatian head of state thanked him on the great assistance and role he had played trying to stop the war in the area of the former Yugoslavia. Demirel gave Croatia credit for the policy it conducted towards Bosnia-Herzegovina last year.
