NO INCREASE IN RADIATION ON PAPUK AND PSUNJ - DOCTOR

ZAGREB, Feb 1 (Hina) - Dr. Dragan Kubelka, head of the Croatian Institute for the Protection Against Radiation and a member of the Health Ministry's commission that toured the mountains of Papuk and Psunj (some 100 kilometres east of Zagreb), on Thursday said the values of the assessed radiation were within the usual values in Croatia. Thus Dr. Kubelka refuted allegations of the press which claimed that the increased radiation was the cause for anomalies of local animals. The media has lately again published reports on green eggs laid by hens on Papuk and Psunj, on a chicken with three wings and four legs, on a calf with seven legs and pigs with six or eight legs, or two mouths. The press linked all those unusual appearances with radiation in the area.
