ZAGREB, Feb 1 (Hina) - According to the latest available data of late September last year, Croatia's foreign debt amounts to slightly above 9.8 billion US dollars (9.834 billion). According to the January issue of the Croatian
National Bank (HNB) Bulletin, the foreign debt in late January was US$73 million less than in late December last year. The state debt accounts for 44 percent or US$4.3 billion of the entire debt, with government bonds accounting for 72 percent. Croatian banks account for US$1.6 billion or 16.2 percent of the debt while other sectors (non-financial companies, other financial institutions and citizens) account for 31.2 percent or just above three billion dollars of the debt.
