BRUSSELS, Jan 23 (Hina) - Sweden's Foreign Minister Anna Lindh expects Croatia's negotiations with the European Union on a Stabilisation and Association Agreement (SAA) will wrap in the first half of this year, during Sweden's
presidency over the Union. Negotiations with Croatia on the SAA should be completed during our presidency over the EU, Lindh told the European parliament's foreign affairs committee on Tuesday. She outlined the programme of Sweden's presidency over the EU and briefed the committee on the results of a Council of Ministers session of Monday. The Croatia-EU negotiations on the SAA opened during the Zagreb Summit last November. The first negotiating round was held in Brussels in December. Technical negotiations on trade liberalisation begin this week. The second negotiating round takes place in Brussels in late February.(hina) ha sb
