SPLIT, Jan 10 (Hina) - Police forces from the southern Croatian towns of Split and Makarska on Tuesday arrested three men and confiscated 54 kilograms of marijuana at the bus station in Makarska, breaking what is believed to be one of
the biggest drug smuggling chains, the head of the Split County narcotics department, Josip Buljan, told reporters on Wednesday. Marko Erceg and Robert Ujdur from Vrgorac, a town near Makarska close to the border with Bosnia-Herzegovina, and Dragan Tolj from Ljubuski in Bosnia-Herzegovina were arrested while reloading bags with marijuana, worth about DM 39,000, from a personal vehicle to a bus. According to the police, the drugs were grown in Bosnia-Herzegovina and were intended for the Croatian market.
