the kidnapping, harassment and killing of four Kosovo Albanians in
June 1999. #L#
In a statement signed by its commander, General Aqim Qeku, the KPC
said it knew the charges against, arrests and trial of the five men
were politically motivated, but nevertheless hoped the ruling of
Pristina's international district court would not be political.
The statement said the five convicts were innocent and that the
ruling had discredited international law and sent a wrong message
to the public.
On a separate occasion yesterday, General Qeku described the trial
as "the failure of international justice in Kosovo".
