ZAGREB, Dec 18 (Hina) - The Croatian Bank for Reconstruction and Development (HBOR) will in 2003 continue its policy of granting export-boosting loans, for which it awarded 1.7 billion kuna (EUR230 million) in 2002.

Development (HBOR) will in 2003 continue its policy of granting
export-boosting loans, for which it awarded 1.7 billion kuna

By the end this November the HBOR granted 31.8 billion kuna worth of
loans and credit guarantees, it was said at Wednesday's
presentation of the bank's business results and new activities.
In 2002 the HBOR continued implementing its policy of granting
loans to boost industry, small and medium-sized businesses and
infrastructure, with emphasis on the stimulation of export.
By the end of November the bank granted loans worth slightly more
than 14 billion kuna, of which export stimulation accounted for 1.7
billion or 10% of all bank loans. Of the 14 billion kuna, business
loans accounted for the largest amount, 4.8 billion kuna. By the end
of last month, the HBOR granted 14.4 billion kuna worth of
guarantees, of which guarantees for the shipbuilding industry
accounted for 13.8 billion kuna.
