Representatives of 15 Security Council countries, led by Norwegian
diplomat Peter Kolby, met the director of the agency for
reconstruction and development of Kosovo, Andy Bearpark. Also
present at the talks were representatives of non-governmental
organisations.
After the talks, the Norwegian Ambassador said that members of the
delegation had a constructive meeting with Serbs from Mitrovica.
Kolby said the Security Council wanted to build a multiethnic
society and make everybody integrate with the society.
He said that not one unilateral step would decide about Kosovo's
future status, but the decision would be made by the Security
Council after consultations with all interested parties. He,
however, did not specify when would this take place.
The delegation also visited the Kosovo police academy in Vucitrn.
Later this evening, the U.N. delegation will meet Kosovo
officials.
