commander, Colonel General William Ward, for Monday's incident in which the Wall of Pain in Zagreb, which is dedicated to Croatian Homeland War victims, was damaged.
ZAGREB, Dec 12 (Hina) - An assistant to the SFOR chief commander,
Brigadier General Guglielmo Zavattoro-Ardizzio, on Thursday
handed to a Croatian assistant foreign minister, Nenad Prelog, an
official apology from the SFOR chief commander, Colonel General
William Ward, for Monday's incident in which the Wall of Pain in
Zagreb, which is dedicated to Croatian Homeland War victims, was

The apology, forwarded to the Croatian Foreign Ministry, conveys
the SFOR's profound regret for the acts of its soldiers, and
described them as completely unacceptable, the ministry reported.
The SFOR says that Colonel General Ward ordered a thorough
investigation into the case, assuring the Croatian side that fast
and efficient measures will be taken against the perpetrators.
The SFOR exceptionally respects Croatian citizens and institutions
and will not tolerate any acts to the contrary, notes the letter.
