In his introduction, Chamber president Richard Schenz stressed the
long tradition of ties and cooperation between Austria and Croatia
which he said was improving all the time, particularly in the
economy and tourism.
Austria is one of the biggest investors in Croatia, with its
tourists leading among those who were the first to return to Croatia
in numbers recorded in the pre-war years, said Schenz.
He added Croatian exports to Austria were constantly growing, with
trade revolving around EUR900 million.
Speaking of Croatia's expectations and bids to join the European
Union, Croatia's minister for European integration, Neven Mimica,
said Croatia had to find reliable partners on that road and that
Austria had proved itself in this respect.
