MOSTAR, Nov 21 (Hina) - Bosnia's Foreign Minister and the president
of the Social Democratic Party, Zlatko Lagumdzija, has called on
the Sarajevo Canton prosecutor, Mustafa Bisic, who charged six
Bosnian Croats with the 1999 murder of Deputy Interior Minister
Jozo Leutar, to submit his resignation because he had abused his
office. #L#
The six Croats were recently acquitted because of lack of evidence
that they had any connection to the murder of Leutar in the spring of
1999.
In an interview to the Thursday issue of Mostar's daily "Dnevni
list", Lagumdzija said that the cantonal prosecutor, with the
collaboration of "third-rate" representatives of the
international community and the help of "media racketeers", was
abusing his office for political manipulation.
According to the minister, if Bisic does not submit his
resignation, the international High Representative to Bosnia,
Paddy Ashdown, should sack him.
Lagumdzija believes that "representatives of the international
community in charge of the judiciary reform" bear direct
responsibility for Bisic's not having resigned by now.
