Although Bosnia-Herzegovina does not have institutions which could
decide on measures to be taken in case of suspicious milk
substances, the agriculture ministries and competent
inspectorates of the two entities have ordered that the products be
immediately withdrawn from sale.
The order was issued after Slovenia warned that its milk and dairy
products might contain an antibiotic which could cause malignant
diseases.
The agriculture minister of the Federation of Bosnia-Herzegovina,
Behija Hadzihajdarevic, said that all Slovene milk and dairy
products would be destroyed and imports banned in case
chloramphenicol was discovered in the milk samples taken for
analysis.
