opened a consulate. #L#
Mumbai, the last stop on Mesic's trip, today hosted a meeting
between representatives of about 20 of Croatia's biggest companies
and representatives of the Federation of India Chambers of Commerce
and Industry (FICCI).
"I think the visit has been successful because we held talks with
India's top officials and businessmen," said Mesic.
The participants in today's talks pointed to the willingness of the
two countries to increase the currently modest trade. The same
conclusion was reached at a similar meeting in New Delhi on
Wednesday.
FICCI's president for west India, Suketu Shah, pointed to the
advantages of Croatia's ports in Rijeka and Split and of the
Croatian coast, which he said offered huge possibilities for
investing in tourism, shipbuilding, the oil, gas and other
industries.
Shah called on Croatia to take part in the development of India's
power sector and infrastructure. He said India could offer
expertise in telecommunications and computer technology.
