At a meeting today, the Committee for Elections, Nominations and
Administration proposed that parliament replace the chairwoman of
the Committee for Internal Affairs and National Security, Djurdja
Adlesic, and chairman of the Committee for Finances and Budget,
Jadranko Mijalic.
The HSLS bench has assessed that the proposed replacements
constitute crude political revenge-seeking on behalf of the ruling
coalition towards the HSLS which, despite the fact that a number of
its MPs left the party, is still entitled to ten percent of seats in
Sabor committees, a statement signed by the party's president,
Drazen Budisa, said.
If the Sabor were to adopt the proposed replacements that would
represent a true political discredit for the Croatian parliament,
with repercussions not only for internal political relations but
for Croatia's international reputation as well, HSLS's statement
noted.
