The fifth pan-European road corridor connects Venice-Trieste-
Ljubljana-Budapest-Bratislava-Uzgorod-Lvov-Kiev while the V.b.
branch heads in the direction of Budapest-Zagreb-Rijeka and the V.c
branch along Budapest-Osijek-Sarajevo-Ploce.
As the Ministry of Maritime Affairs, Transportation and
Communications reported, the most important task for Croatia in
this regard is to complete the Rijeka-Zagreb-Gorican Highway by the
end of 2004 and prepare the relevant documents to construct the
highway from the border with Hungary via Osijek, B-H to Ploce by the
end of 2004.
Minister Zuvanic will conduct several bilateral meetings with his
colleagues from Hungary, Bosnia-Herzegovina and Slovenia during
the conference, the Ministry reported.
An agreement with Hungary has already been signed concerning the
tangent points of the Gorican-Letenye highway along the V.b.
corridor and in that regard the construction of a bridge across the
Mura river.
Minister Zuvanic will discuss the construction of the V.c. corridor
with his colleagues from Hungary and Bosnia.
He will also discuss harmonising traffic connections with his
Slovenian colleague Minister Jakov Presecnik on the Rijeka-Rupa-
Triest Highway, the Zagreb-Bregana-Ljubljana Highway, the Pula-
Dragonja-Koper Highway and the Zagreb-Macelj-Ptuj Highway.
