Hina on Saturday received information that the Immigration
Naturalisation Service (INS) has requested a postponement from a
Bloomington immigration court in Minnesota, since the process will
not event be necessary because Croatia has not requested
Arambasic's extradition.
The INS has accused Arambasic for providing false information when
immigrating, since he never said he had been found guilty of war
crimes.
Arambasic was arrested in Sioux Falls in South Dakota on the basis
of an international arrest warrant.
His legal representative, Dusan Vucicevic, announced he would
fight the extradition. He claims that his client did not
participate in crimes against Croatian civilians, and when the
Croatian court sentenced him in 1997, Arambasic lived in Serbia.
Arambasic arrived in the United States two years ago as a refugee
with the assistance of the UNHCR.
