ZAGREB, Oct 16 (Hina) - The demographic policy cannot be led the way
it had been so far because the demographic drama will turn into a
tragedy, the author and critic of the new collection of papers
called "The Croatian Demographic and Demostrategic Drama", Zoran
Jasic, said on Wednesday. Jasic, a professor at the Zagreb
Economics Faculty made this statement presenting the collection of

The collection of papers resulted following a round table held on
April 12 and was prepared by the "11 January 1972" association and
the Croatian Victimology Society in an effort to send a warning
about the demographic situation that threatens the extinction of
one of Europe's oldest nations.
The president of the "11 January 1972" association, Academic Vlatko
Pavletic, who prepared the collection of papers, spoke about two
projects conducted by the association - the truth about the black
day for Croatian patriotism and the Croatian demographic and
demostrategic drama - that were almost not mentioned in the media.
He announced that another project on globalisation and its
repercussions for Croatia would be completed before the year's end
while early next year another will be conducted on the drain of
capital from the country.
The secretary of the association, Marko Veselica, said that the
association was involved with capital and strategic issues
concerning the Croatian people not only in Croatia but also in
Bosnia-Herzegovina and the world.
"The de-Croatisation of Croatia was being conducted," Veselica
said, and added that the victory of reformed Communists and
Liberals at the last election brought the Croatian people in a
difficult position. Another option needs to win at the next
election, one that will change the axiom of the Croatian state,
Veselica said, mentioning that media blockades today were worse
than in the times of Communism.
The media is not serving democracy, freedom and the preservation of
the Croatian people, he claimed. Veselica announced that a new
magazine entitled "Kritika" (Criticism), which had a significant
role in the Croatian Spring, would soon be released.
