The statement, cited by media in Podgorica on Wednesday evening,
also notes that Yugoslavia and Croatia have been negotiating for
some time about a Protocol that would temporarily regulate a border
regime on Prevlaka.
The document would net pre-empt a final solution but would regulate
demilitarisation, the free flow of people and goods, commercial and
maritime co-operation, the statement notes and adds that the
Protocol would improve good neighbourly relations between the two
countries, as well as stability and prosperity in the region.
Yugoslavia will present its foreign policies as a priority in the
negotiations, that is that two contentious issues with its
neighbours be resolved with mutual acceptance, the statement
concludes.
