ZAGREB, Sept 23 (Hina) - Thanks to the co-ordinated actions by veterinarians, the infectious anaemia of hooved animals has been stopped as has the rapid growth of infected animals, and matters are under control, the head of the
laboratory of the Institute for Infectious Anaemia of Hooved Animals at the Faculty of Veterinary Studies, Berislav Jukic, told a press conference on Monday.
ZAGREB, Sept 23 (Hina) - Thanks to the co-ordinated actions by
veterinarians, the infectious anaemia of hooved animals has been
stopped as has the rapid growth of infected animals, and matters are
under control, the head of the laboratory of the Institute for
Infectious Anaemia of Hooved Animals at the Faculty of Veterinary
Studies, Berislav Jukic, told a press conference on Monday. #L#
He announced that systematic testing and animal check ups would,
nevertheless, continue.
From the first reported case of the disease on August 1 to date, a
total of 6,253 animals have been inspected, of which 153 were
recorded with having the disease. Of the animals shown to be
infected, 97 were put down while 25 died in pasture.
The remaining sick animals will be put down.
