Prime Minister and president of the Social Democratic Party (SDP)
told reporters that regarding the electoral law, views varied from
a proportional to a mixed electoral model, from Croatia being one
electoral unit to it being divided into several electoral units.
Today parties exchanged stances, and the issue will again be
discussed after consultations with party leaderships, Ivica Racan
said.
Leaders of the ruling coalition expressed dissatisfaction with the
ongoing process of transforming the Croatian Television (HTV), as
well as the speed and quality of the process.
The party leaders firmly supported the separation of the Television
and Radio and the completion of the property allocation process, as
well as the privatisation of the television's Channel Three, Racan
said. He stressed that the coalition heads were aware about the fact
that quality in electronic media would be difficult to secure
without competition.
Racan said the privatisation process would be conducted in a fair
way, with the intention of getting the best competition.
The ruling heads also discussed the agenda of the coming Croatian
parliamentary autumn session, Racan said.
