ZAGREB, Aug 22 (Hina) - A special action by the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry was initiated on Thursday in Sisak-Moslavina County to take blood samples from horses to test for any possible infectious anaemia in hoofed
animals.

Moslavina County to take blood samples from horses to test for any
possible infectious anaemia in hoofed animals. #L#
The disease first appeared around Odransko polje near Sisak in
early August. The cause of the infectious anaemia is a virus that
affects only hoofed animals and is transferred by insects.
On August 16, the Ministry proclaimed the entire area of Sisak-
Moslavina County under threat of the disease.
To date, the Ministry noted, 55 sick animals were put down while 13
were reported to have died.
