Surgeries on some 30 to 40 patients with complex heart ailments will
be carried out until the end of the week in a new hospital ward, the
head of the hospital's institute for cardiac illnesses, Mijo
Bergovec, said.
Experts from Great Britain will exchange experiences with the
Zagreb hospital's experts in performing complex heart surgeries,
Bergovec said.
The hospital ward, worth 750,000 US dollars was opened last month.
It was financed by a World Bank loan as part of a project to expedite
the treatment of heart patients.
