In a statement issued on Tuesday, the Ministry said that with the
receipt of advice of being ranked in the 3rd group countries with
relation to risk of mad cow disease, procedures were instigated to
estimate the state in those countries categorised in the same
group. "We still expect some data from these countries, however,
all decisions will be made when a detailed study is conducted," the
press release said.
The unions were advised to cooperate with the Croatian Cattle-
Selection Centre, the umbrella institution responsible for the
development of Croatia's cattle fund.
The Ministry will keep in mind the interest of Croatian farmers and
the health of consumers, the Ministry concluded.
