"We have established that the set up of the government is not
possible because we do not share the same stand regarding the issue
of referendum in a possible coalition agreement, which should be
the political basis for the functioning of the government,"
Vujanovic told reporters.
Vujanovic and another party vice-president, Svetozar Marovic, held
talks on behalf of the ruling DPS party with representatives of the
coalition "Together For Yugoslavia". The meeting was the last
attempt of the ruling party and the opposition to harmonise their
views at least about the constitution of a technical government, as
one of the possibilities to solve the crisis in the country.
"The DPS believes that the referendum, as part of the Belgrade
Agreement, should be an integral part of the coalition agreement,
and that citizens, three years after the agreement on new relations
between Serbia and Montenegro, should confirm the continuation of
the joint state or chose independence in a referendum," Vujanovic
said, adding the pro-Yugoslav coalition was against this.
"We have agreed that we cannot harmonise stands that are so
different and that the only realistic option is an election, which
should be made possible by shortening the mandate of the
Montenegrin parliament," Vujanovic said.
The coalition "Together for Yugoslavia" today said the deep state
and political crisis in Montenegro could only be solved with an
early parliamentary election.
