ANKARA, June 25 (Hina) - The current economic cooperation between Croatia and Turkey lags to a considerable extent behind the developed political relations, but this should be overcome as of 1 January 2003, when a joint free trade
agreement takes effect, Croatian Economy Minister Hrvoje Vojkovic said on Tuesday.

"Turkey is a developed country with a great market and almost 70
million citizens, and this opens up great possibilities for
Croatian business people," Vojkovic said at the end of his four-day
official visit to Ankara.
Vojkovic added that the two countries had very good conditions for
enhancing their cooperation in ship- and infrastructure-
building.
Zagreb and Ankara will support each other in the determination of
routes for gas transport which should be added to the European
energy system.
During the visit of Vojkovic and a Croatian business delegation, it
was confirmed that Zagreb would issue 11,500 export licenses to
Turkish road carriers by the end of the year.
