Machuura spoke at a UNESCO gathering in Paris being held under the
title of "Reconstruction of the Old Bridge - a Symbol of Dialogue
Between Communities in Bosnia & Herzegovina," the public relations
office of Mostar's City Council reported.
The gathering in Paris was organised in the wake of the commencement
of works to reconstruct the arch of the Old Bridge.
Gratitude was expressed to the donor countries amongst which are
Croatia, the World Bank and the UNESCO, all involved in financing
the reconstruction of the Old Bridge in Mostar.
The Old Bridge in Mostar was brought down by Croatian defence forces
in autumn 1993 during the Bosnian Croatian-Muslim conflict.
