The signing of the resolution was organised by the Institute for
Globalisation and Intercultural Studies, whose coordinator Irena
Horvatic Cajko said another aim was to change the currently
prevalent order of introducing English as the first foreign
language in schools.
The resolution was signed by representatives of the Swiss and
French embassies, the Austrian Cultural Forum, the Goethe
Institute, the Zagreb Teachers Academy, the Zagreb Faculty of
Philosophy language departments, and numerous individuals. The
Italian and Spanish embassies and the Italian Cultural Institute
will also sign it.
