ZAGREB, April 24 (Hina) - The 22 tonnes of fuel oil which spilled into the Mirna river near Buzet on Tuesday afternoon has not endangered water supply in the area thanks to the swift action of competent services, the chief state water
management inspector, Zeljko Makvic, said on Wednesday.

The oil spilled into the river from a damaged container in the
heating system of the Buzet elementary school.
The spill, 4-5 km long, polluted the Istrian town's sewerage system
and cleansing equipment.
The spill broke through a dam which was immediately set up to
protect Mirna, so another one is being built.
